Trump to meet Venezuelan opposition leader Machado again
Speaking to reporters, Trump described Machado positively and confirmed further discussions ahead. “I think she's a very fine woman and we'll be talking again,” he said.
He recounted that during their meeting on Thursday, Machado told him he merited the Nobel Peace Prize for what she described as his role in ending multiple conflicts. “She said, ‘you’ve ended eight wars, and nobody deserves this prize more than in history than you do,’” Trump said, adding, “And I thought it was a very nice gesture.”
Machado previously said she was "impressed" by Trump’s detailed attention to the situation in Venezuela and his expressed concern for the welfare of its population, according to reports.
